TASTE OF INDIA, BERGEN

There are Indian restaurants in Oslo, but further north has been (so I believe) something of a curry desert. However, if you venture further north to the port of Bergen you will find not one but two Indian restaurants. They are both under the same ownership, situated within fifty yards of each other in Marken, have the same name (Taste of India), and exactly the same menu. Presumably they each have a different chef. The original is upstairs, plushly decorated in Indian style with chandeliers and very comfortable. The newest (opened earlier this year I believe) is downstairs.

The menu contains most dishes found a home, if slightly more limited, but like everything in Norway, prices are considerably higher than in UK. However, they do a reasonable lunchtime special.

And the food? I'm afraid I can't say as I was unable to eat in either. Have you? (comments appreciated).
