ROYAL TANDOORI, 52 LONDON ROAD, STONE, Nr DARTFORD

Another Indian restaurant taking over the premises of a former pub, this one opening about five years ago. A light and airy restaurant, it offers the usual selection of dishes in pleasantly decorated surroundings.

The food was very pleasant as well. All dishes we had were a good standard of formula curry. Vegetable curries tasty and well spiced, particularly the Tarka Dall, which was just about right. My Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi was a curious dark red colour, but tasted fine, with the chillis cooked in rather than added at the end.

Prices about average, portions very generous, and plenty of friendly, red-jacketed waiters ensured a good service.
