NAZIFA (Take-Away), 28 Milton Road
This take-away opened in the summer of 2007, taking over the premises of the
long established Raj (which opened in the town in 1983, so it had been
one of the longer established ones). Although the Raj used to be OK, it
had gone downhill since it changed hands and chef in 2003, and obviously never
recovered. The new Nazifa (I think its Nazifa but it could equally be Nazisa
or Nazita as the f is written in a posh way that although
different, makes it difficult to distinguish) is owned by the same family that
run the Gandhi, Cafe Taj, and various others in town, and as such has a
good pedigree. I have now used it several times and the food is always of a good standard. I
have our usual dishes, and they're all well
up to scratch - Jalfrezi nice and hot, Tarka Dall plenty of garlic flavour,
Mixed Vegetable Bhaji nicely spiced and Tandoori Chicken well marinated etc.
It's another good formula curry outlet, making the competition (and decisions
when one wants a take-away) even more difficult. Malcolm Wilkins - December 2007
