CURRY SCENE, FAVERSHAM

Faversham has four Indian restaurants in town, all within relatively close proximity. The smallest, and I believe the first of the quartet to open, is The Raj at 106 West Street. Moving along West Street across the main road to East Street brings you to India Royal at number 16. This was the second Indian restaurant, opening in about 1991.

Since then two others have opened, both In Preston Street, which runs off West Street towards the station. Both are more modern in style and decor, as might be expected. At number 70 is The Prince of India, which opened in December 2006. It has a standard table layout although is bigger inside than it appears from outside. It offers an interesting menu with many unfamiliar names listed, and puts on occasional live shows (usually tribute nights). The fourth is Spice Lounge at number 76. Again it is modern and contemporary in decor with a waterfall at the entrance and seats about 60. Reports of all four are provided.
