CURRY SCENE

Wareham has three Indian restaurants, two of which are traditional style and one that is Nepalese based but offers a much wider choice of Oriental cuisine.

The first established was the Rajpoot in North Street, the main road through town, which enjoyed a monopoly in town until 2002, when Monsoon opened in November of that year. Monsoon is situated in a pub - the Railway Tavern - next to the station at one end of town.

The most recent is the Gurkha, which opened in late 2006. It is a little on the outskirts of town, in Sandford Road in the area known as Sandford. It offers Nepalese and Indian dishes, as well as Thai, Malay and Chinese, and is run on an 'all--you-can-eat' buffet at a fixed price.

All three have separate reports.
