CURRY SCENE

Winchester appeared to have three Indian restaurants in the City centre. When looking for high street curry houses I usually start in the high street and sure enough The Gandhi was soon spotted. Looked a reasonable high street Indian and I made a note for the evening.

The second was Suhel’s Balti House in St George’s Street which was not very attractive as the whole window and door was covered with a tatty black film, like black cling film which, with no curtains made the place look distinctly uninviting. I crossed that off my list of possibles.

Lastly there was the Palash which looked a standard Indian restaurant. However, as there were no tempting smells wafting under my nostrils and the Gandhi had looked slightly more attractive I opted on balance for the traditional high street curry house.
