Pleasantly surprised to find that the relatively small Cornish resort of Bude now has three Indian restaurants. It only had two for many years, with the Taste of India apparently being the original, but following a family argument half of the family moved out and opened another restaurant (India Garden) in competition. Since then another (Mirchi) has opened.

All are centrally situated in the town centre. When I visited in 1998 there was only the two, and there wasn't  much to choose between either from the outside. In the event the Taste of India edged the vote, although in retrospect I wondered if we had chosen wisely! The newer Mirchi has a more contemporary look to the interior with wooden floors and (simulated) leather chairs
