BELASH TANDOORI (Take-Away), 73 Tonbridge Road

This take-away was opened in the Spring 2002 and is unconnected with any other restaurant in Maidstone.

The food was fairly run-of-the-mill formula curry and nothing really above average. The main dish of Chicken Tikka Pathia was, perhaps, the most disappointing as it was in a very thin and watery sauce, without being particularly hot. Shabzi (mixed veg) was OK, if a little oily, while the Tarka Dall was pleasantly spiced and with a good garlic flavour. Vegetable rice was fine.

Prices about average. Portions of the Pathia and Shabzi less than average but rice and Dall OK Service behind the counter was friendly and it was ready on time for collection.
